Sarah Majdali Ryerson
Filmmaker . Editor . Director . Photographer
From an early age I have been drawn to film production. At three years old I decided I wanted to be an actor. I was performing regularly in school and church since age 8. If I wasn't performing I was involved behind the scenes. After attending a performing arts magnet high school for my senior year I began taking film classes and fell head over heels for the entire creative process. From story development in writing, on set productions, to the final cut, I was all in.
While my husband was getting his PhD in Southern California, I supported him at home and helped raise our four older children while still attending film school on and off trying slowly to finish my degree. He finished his degree and was offered a job in St.Louis. We moved to the midwest before I finished my film production associates. There were not many options for a proper film school where I lived so I began studying psychology and sociology online in order to better develop good characters and relatable and relevant stories. In December 2022 I finally received my Bachelors in Science in Marriage and Family Studies with a certificate in Advanced Marriage and Family Functioning.
In July 2024 I graduated from the College of Continuing Education at the University of Washington with a certificate in Film and Video Production.
I currently work freelance as a social media content creator, on set editor, DIT, and sewing teacher while writing and working on my own projects in my spare time.
